This small shrimp requires a little more work since only the head has been removed. Smaller in size, these shrimp require you to get your hands dirty and remove the shell. The shell on the shrimp can help encapsulate the flavor during the cooking process and the mess of peeling when steamed and seasoned is desired by many finger-licking crab pickers. We primarily stock wild-caught top neck clams from New Jersey. The “Garden State” is the closest source for top necks, which makes for a fresher product, in turn keeping with our commitment to deliver only the best to our customers.

Top neck clams are a versatile clam, prepared and served in a variety of ways. They are great for steaming, but can also be eaten raw or stuffed and baked as “clams casino.”

Because of their versatility, top necks are generally the most popular clam up and down the East Coast, especially in the Philadelphia/New Jersey area. Their larger size, measuring between 2 1/8″ – 2 3/8″, makes for a hardy meal at roughly four clams per pound.

The West Coast’s favorite crustacean, this delicacy can be found in many grocery stores across the US. They are similar to the Blue crab in many way but taste much different. The texture of the meat of the Dungeness is firm but breaks very easily much like the claw meat of a Blue Crab but has a similar taste to some varieties of snow crab. The Dungeness crab is very plentiful with meat and has a short stocky build. To make picking a little easier, you should also consider the Crab Claw Cracker.
